Hi ya!
When you have browser issues, one of the best things to do is check to see if the issue is being caused by an extension. Disabling it, or uninstalling it, is a good way to check.
Since I’ve already made a blog post on how to uninstall an extension, I’ll make one on how to disable an extension.
Let’s get started!
- First off, you need to go to the menu bar, which is in the top right corner that looks like this: Then find More Tools, select it, and that’s where you’ll find extensions.
- To disable an extension, uncheck the checkbox, and to enable an extension, check the checkbox.
It’s been disabled.
And this one means that it’s been enabled.
- Now, there’s another way you can get to extensions (which I prefer), and that is:
Type chrome://extensions in the omnibox and that will take you to the extensions page. You can disable it / enable it from there.
And, that is how you disable an extension!
To summarize:
- Click the menu bar at the top right of the page (looks like this: [or type this in the omnibox: chrome://extensions] )
- Find More Tools, select it, and click on Extensions.
- To disable an extension, uncheck the checkbox, and to enable an extension, check the checkbox.
