#42 Gmail - Chat Sound Notifications

Hi ya!


Do you have your Gmail open in one tab, and in the other tab, you’re busy doing something else?
When someone wants to chat with you via Gmail chat, you’re informed audibly with a sound notification.
Sound notifications are automatically enabled in Gmail. But if you want to disable them, then follow the instructions below!


Manage Chat sounds in Gmail


  • Click the gear icon (Screenshot 2015-02-03 at 9.45.39 PM.png) at the top right of the Gmail webpage
  • Select Settings
  • Click the Chat tab Screenshot 2015-02-03 at 9.47.36 PM.png
  • Find the Sound selection and click Sounds on if you want the sounds on. Or click Sounds off if you want the sound off.
  • After you’ve turned sound on or off, at the bottom of the page, click Save Changes


Please note, if you want to use sound notifications, it requires Flash.


And, yeah. That is how you manage chat sound in Gmail!


To Summarize:
